In A Nutshell

When I realized there was a spiritual warfare going on in the natural, my first complaint to the Father was…”Dear God, Satan is causing great tribulation in my life. It makes it difficult to ….!” Well, my prayer was said with greater details and more humility than my example may present, but to put it in a nutshell…I finally got it!

Do you get it?

In learning more about how God teaches us through His discipline by way of life’s everyday situations, I finally learned to quit complaining about the adversity to God! Why? Because our Father already knows everything! Why should I complain about something God allowed so I would learn from His guidance?

The example God used for me to learn was a pecan. God is the entire outer shell. Everything on the inside… whether the pecan meat is good; partially good; dried; or even rotten; even the smallest tiniest particles, what I call “husk dividers” separating the pecan from one side to the other then where the two parts are joined… no matter what is on inside, or has gone on or is going on…. the pecan shell representative of God… is fully aware before it’s opened.

This really opened my eyes to the concept of how God uses Satan to get our attention. If you are all about God, then you are aware of His discipline. He disciplines those He loves!

“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews 12:11 (NIV)

Admittedly, some days are harder than others.

By applying the pecan theory let’s focus on the earth. God is the Spirit all around, above, below and within the earth. Everything that goes on throughout the entire earth, God is FULLY aware! Not one thing gets by God. Nothing. Notta.

So what good does it do to complain? None!

God already knows you are being annoyed by Satan. He already knows when you choose something that is not God’s will but your selfish desire. God even knows the number of hairs on your head. He created you and me!

“And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Matthew 10:30 (NIV)

God searches your heart 24/7, "…for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts…” I Chronicles 28:9 (NASB)

So why would you think God didn’t know about Satan picking at you, tempting your ways or testing you?

God allows and uses Satan to teach us lessons as Satan is bound on earth. "The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him." Revelation 12:9 (NIV)

Satan is not going anywhere and God is making sure of that. Every day we get closer to Jesus Christ’s return, Satan and his demons are going to try and stir up more fuss in our lives, try to create more hatred, cause a tremendous amount of confusion, and deceive others far more than anyone could imagine.

Believers of God are tested over and over again. Some days or part of some days, we get a reprieve. The Holy Spirit works through us to do something good for another. It feels good and God is pleased. But most times, when we least expect it, God places us in testing zones to see how we will react. Why? God is preparing our hearts to become more Christ-like in our actions, the way we speak, what we say, how we treat others, and if we remember to pray and thank God for another day to be His servant.

"But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [directs and controls you]..." Romans 8:9 (AMP)

God teaches His children to be better than we were the day before, the hour before, the moment before…. we lost our cool… became irritable… gossiped… lied… cheated… cursed… or whatever “vice” or bad act happened to make your world crummy. Some days are crummier than others!

God is a Spirit who surrounds us with unconditional love, knowing everything that goes on in this world just like a pecan and it's shell. No matter what goes on in your world or in your shell of a world, God is aware of your actions, your heart, your burdens, your goodness, your needs, and everything else.

Once I was able to “get it” and learn God is in full control, my daily testing and prayers became more focused on how I can improve my ways instead of complaining about my days.
